Late Assignment Policy
Holy Trinity High School
Assignments MUST be passed in on the day they are due.
If a student is absent from class and provides a note for his/her absence then he/she can pass in the assignment on the day he/she returns to school without penalty.
If an assignment is not passed in on time the teacher will conference with the student as to the reason it is not passed in and the student will be given TWO days to pass in the assignment; 5% will be deducted from the mark for one day late and 10% will be deducted for two days late.
If an assignment is not passed in within TWO days, parents will be notified by email or phone call. Students will then be given two more days to pass in the assignment and 20% will be deducted from the mark.
If an assignment is not passed in within FOUR days the student will receive a mark of 0% for the evaluation.
Assignments must be submitted in a timely manner as they are reflective of the work that is being completed at the time. Teachers want to return corrected work in a timely manner to give students feedback on the work completed. In order for work to be graded fairly and to be valid, then it must be submitted before corrected assignments are returned to other students, thus it is imperative that students complete work and submit in on the due date.
